Rattler V2 thermal imaging scope redneck review, best thing out there for $1000
This is the ratter V2 19-256 thermal imaging rifle scope. For the money I’m going to say it’s the best out there. I love that you could take it off easily and use it as a monocular. Is very versatile for what you pay for. God bless. more to come

I'm pretty sure there's an online ammo company now selling ammo specifically downloaded to shoot in 6.5 Vetterlis. Milsurp Munitions might be the name of it. They are a little pricey but cheaper than buying a press and loading your own. The Italians converted these to 6.5 as an emergency measure to issue to police and rear guard troops. They never expected or designed them to last more than a couple dozen rounds with full power Carcano ammo. On the other hand I think a lot of the cheaper Carcano ammo now available from PPU may also be light enough that you might get away with shooting a few, but the accuracy with PPU is probably gonna be awful out of most of these because their bullets are so undersized.

Taper the firing pin, assuming you have the hammer spring as maximum. By narrowing the firing pin you will be using the same force but on a smaller area. That gives the strike a beeper penetration and hopefully better ignition. If the firing makes contact at the 12 a clock of the 22 mag cartridge that is where to do most of your file work. The pistol I'm working on makes contact at the 6 a clock position so I thinned the bottom of the pin. If you can but a new or stronger hammer spring do that first. Good luck.

I thought of doing the same to a S&W Victory Model 10 which was made for England via Lend Lease Act (pre- WWII). It originally was a 38/200 but after the war the English reworked it to 22lr, shipped to the states and sold to the public. I don't have a 22 mag pistol so I thought I'd rem it out (I have lots of space between chambers). Searching for info on this subject I found your post. Thank you, I didn't know about the outside diameter was also different at the rim. You are NO idiot. Like me, you are a redneck gunsmith. We learn by doing. There is no glory without trying. I was thinkin a "survival" rifle would be a little more geared towards taking small game. Does it come with one of those "straight rifled" type of chokes for keeping bird shot patterns a little tighter? Kinda like the chokes that the old Super Camanche's came with? I thought Rossi made them for the Circuit Judge at one point too, but I can't remember off the top of my head... 🤔 Oh well, it's still a cool little rifle either way. Thanks for sharing it. I hate when reviewers use bird shot or small buckshot to demo the Brawler. They shoot themselves in the foot right off the bat with their lack of knowledge. It's one of the most fun pistols I have to shoot, and everyone at the range wants to try it.

  • @brucecook502

This is because the trigger shoe on the stock trigger sucks. It catches on the frame too quickly after you make contact with the trigger so it forces you to make contact with the shoe before pressure to the trigger itself is applied so it could be a problem in some scenarios but I would imagine 99% of the time this is not going to happen if you were actually practicing self-defense with a gun. You would have to either be catching the side of the trigger on purpose to induce this undesired affect, or get a very rare and unlucky trigger pull and catch the trigger before the shoe but I did not have this happened to me one time during the first 200 rounds I still had the stock trigger in it before I installed the Apex Trigger, nor have I seen a single person have a malfunction in the endless number of videos I have seen of people shooting the Hellcat with stock trigger. The Hellcat is a good gun, in fact it is one of the best Micro Compact 9 mm out there. It would be more than worth buying and if the trigger shoe is that big of a concern, either shave the top of the trigger shoe where it contacts the frame a little bit so it is still functionable but won't catch so soon, or just getting upgrade trigger which I would recommend anyways because the reliability and comfort to carry makes it worth buying and making these adjustments.

My theory about why gun manufacturers went away from long barrels. It saves steel. The shorter barrels are handier. Perhaps look nicer. Maximum velocity is attained in about 16 or 18 inches of barrel, at least with modern propellants. Anything much longer and I think the bullet slows down due to barrel friction. I think too I've been told that the bullet lube runs out by about 18" of barrel. I get what you're saying; I love the lower report of the longer barrels. I reckon the exit pressure at the muzzle is reduced, plus the muzzle is a few inches farther from your ears, for what that is worth. Remember the old Marlin Model 60s with the long barrels and full-length magazine tubes? I think they held something like 18 .22 LR rounds. I am told it was New Jersey that banned them, so Marlin shortened the magazine tubes. Some time after that, Marlin shortened the barrels as well to match the shorter magazines.

@@jrwildwest73 Cool; I look forward to your response. Well, let's see; the St. Valentine's Day Massacre happened in 1929 and the NFA was passed in 1934. The Man was I guess fed up with gangsters supposedly using such weapons as short-barreled rifles & shotguns, silencers and full-auto guns. Other than the SVD massacre and the Barrow gang, I'd never heard much if anything about criminals using what we now call "NFA weapons". At least not on non-criminals. I suppose there was some public outcry back then about crime, so then, as now, the gooberment's usual response to a real or imagined problem is to ban something. Back then it seems The Man had at least some respect for the 2nd Amendment, so realizing they could not actually ban auto weapons etc. they did the next best thing -- they taxed the hell out of them. With a $200 transfer tax. Today, most of us can earn $200 bucks in a couple of days, but back in 1934 of course that was a LOT of money. One online inflation calculator indicates that $200 in 1934 is approximately $4,700 in 2024! Holy shit-handles, Batman!!

Examples being the 20-gauge Ithaca Auto-Burgler gun and the "Trapper" versions of the Winchester 1873, 1892 and 1894 rifles. Those lever-action rifles could be ordered in various barrel lengths under 20", with barrels in the 14-15" range being I am told the most common in that rifle variation. However, barrels as short as 12" have been produced. As my cursory internet search reveals. One source indicates that Winchester stopped offering the "trapper" option (or as Winchester officially called them "Special Short Carbines) in 1933. I reckon they read the handwriting on the wall, with the NFA. Thank you, and may God bless you as well!
